Wallenius Marine partners in celebration of 60 years of Sweden – Singapore relations

We are proud to be a partner in the celebration of 60 years of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Singapore, organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore.

Singapore has long been an important part of Wallenius Marine’s global operations. Since the late 1990s, Wallenius has been active in Singapore through various partnerships and joint ventures, recognising early the city-state’s strategic role as an important maritime hub.

In 2007, our presence was further strengthened with the establishment of a dedicated Wallenius Marine office. Today, 26 colleagues are based at the Singapore office, working across crewing, purchasing, finance and technical management. From here, our teams support safe and efficient vessel operations around the world.

Singapore has long been an important hub for Wallenius Marine’s operations in the region. Our presence here enables us to work closely with agents, partners and customers across the Indo – Pacific region. Being locally present allows us to better understand our customers’ needs and support them with both ship design and ship management services. We are proud to be part of the Swedish presence in Singapore and to contribute to the strong ties between our countries, says Niklas Blomqvist, COO and Head of the Singapore Office at Wallenius Marine.

Throughout the anniversary year, we look forward to taking part in a series of events highlighting the strong ties between the two countries and the Swedish business community in Singapore. The programme includes the Swedish National Day Reception, a Swedish Midsummer celebration, as well as a Nobel-inspired gala dinner later in the year.
